What makes you a better choice than my insurer?
We are a dedicated car repair and replacement service, established in order to provide a unique service that could give you something more beneficial than your insurer. When you are in a car accident that's not your fault, your car insurer can ask for you to pay your excess initially, and then you have to claim it back later.
We don't agree with this sentiment; we don't think you should have to pay anything at all! If you are responsible for the accident then paying your excess is understandable, but when you are the innocent party you should pay nothing, and you certainly shouldn't have to spend your time claiming money back at a later date.
Your insurer will not necessarily give you an appropriate replacement vehicle either; your agreement with your insurer may simply mean that they provide a randomly selected hire car, not a like for like alternative. With It's Not Your Fault, you will get the right kind of car! If you need a family sized car, you will NOT find yourself squeezing everyone into a Corsa.
You may also have no guarantee from your insurer regarding the quality of the repair workshop. Your insurer will have some kind of standing agreement with a garage or set of garages, but you will probably have no idea about the standard of work being carried out on your car. With It's Not Your Fault, the work is carried out by a BSI KitemarkTM approved workshop, which means that you know you will get the high standards you expect, in terms of both vehicle safety and vehicle repair quality.
Why would my insurer ask me to pay my excess when it's not my fault?
The likely reason is that your insurer has no guarantee that the accident genuinely wasn't your fault, until there has been a thorough investigation. Once they are sure you're not responsible, you can begin the process of claiming back your excess.
Why won't you ask for my excess?
Your car insurance excess has nothing to do with us, we are not a car insurer! Our costs are simply recovered from the other side, as long as the accident wasn't your fault.
How fast are repairs?
Although repair jobs will always vary, the average turnaround is roughly five working days from the time we take the car, or ten working days from First Notification of Loss (the moment you contact us). You will find that these are particularly quick times, and many insurance companies are notorious for taking a lot longer.
What is a BSI KitemarkTM
This is a British stamp of approval and quality. The British Standards Institute refers to the Kitemark as "one of the most recognised symbols of quality and safety and offers true value to consumers, businesses and procurement practices."
It measures different aspects of a given business and its operation, and the approval will be issued upon successful examination and inspection. The Kitemark for vehicle repair is known as PAS125, and a high quality workshop should have this stamp of approval.
So are you approved to this higher standard?
Absolutely! It's Not Your Fault uses a dedicated repair shop which is run by experts of the highest calibre, and boasts that all-important PAS125 BSI Kitemark.
Will I really get a like for like vehicle replacement?
One of the main features of our service is a like for like car replacement. This kind of assurance is something we think is missing from the services offered by many car insurers, but it is something that is obviously important for you.
Why won't my insurer give me a suitable vehicle?
You could get a suitable vehicle, but equally you may end up with something inappropriate. Your insurer may be under no obligation to give you a similar car during the repairs, and they may not have access to a wide variety of alternative vehicles.
So do you have a large fleet of replacement vehicles ready?
We have an agreement with a panel of national hire companies throughout the UK. This gives us access to their extensive fleet of vehicles, and that means we can provide you with a like for like replacement.
Will I lose my No Claims bonus if I use my insurer?
This is possible, although each insurer is different. As a claim is being made, there is a chance you could lose your No Claims, even though it's not your fault.
Will I lose my No Claims bonus if I use you?
If you use our service, it will have no effect on your No Claims. We are completely separate from your insurer.
Does this service affect my car insurance?
Using It's Not Your Fault will NOT affect your car insurance. It is a separate service designed to give you a more effective solution to fast, effective car replacement and repair when you have been in a car accident that was not your fault. You will not nullify your insurance, or negatively affect it in any way.
Why doesn't everyone use It's Not Your Fault?
It's Not Your Fault is a brand new service, recently designed and developed as a way of providing motorists with a way to ensure they get fast, reliable car repair, as well as a like for like car replacement. We think this kind of dedicated service is not properly offered to UK drivers, and we're confident that motorists will see the clear benefits of using us, instead of their insurer, when they're in a car accident that's not their fault.
Can I still use your service if I caused the accident?
Our repair service is available to anyone looking to get their car fixed, but the specific objective of It's Not Your Fault is to offer a fast, effective solution to those involved in a car accident that was not their fault. That is the only way to use our benefits, such as a like for like car replacement.
What if I'm not sure who's responsible?
We will make an assessment, and if you are partly or wholly responsible then you won't be able to make use of our service's benefits.
So how do I claim?

When will you take my damaged vehicle?
We will organise a time that suits you, and then come to collect your vehicle.
When will I get the replacement?
This is usually the same day that we take your damaged vehicle, but we will organise this directly with you.
So will you be in regular contact with me?
We aim to provide a comprehensive service, which includes keeping you up to date with the situation. You will obviously want to know how things are going and what sort of timeline should be expected; we will let you know everything, and make sure you are kept well informed.
Will you contact my insurer?
We may make contact with your insurer, but you should also notify them yourself so that they know your vehicle is under repair after an accident.
